the possibilities that new media offer technology, the friendly face of globalization, which allows low-cost access to such information and has democratized certain consumer goods such as movies, I like both (though I think not as much as my friend P, who is stuck with story, and they saw three to a late head of TV). I hate programs Chilean TV open: with few exceptions, the majority seem to me an insult to the intelligence, but I like good movies. Good does not necessarily mean that the film is of high artistic content, but I like it and leave me something, simply, as I feel I have good taste. O good bad taste too. Anyway, this is a short list of my favorites, in order to Chilean, ie without order:
Closer: that I have just repeated, and me into a state of melancholy. Film that portrays a crude and subtle at the same time the twisting paths that sometimes take the relationships. I like it for the same thing that captivated The Unbearable Lightness of Being, the novel Kundera: the unbearable lightness of being.
The Lord of the Rings: I was never interested in the books of Tolkien, but the movie left me pegadÃsimo, for his outstanding performance, perfect balance between commercial and artistic films. Because I have a lot of wave to the mean age as well (tonight is the feast of St. Augustine, to all this: nod to historians of cato), and that, although it is a work of fiction, presents in the form of a story, existential questions and super deep and universal values: the struggle between good and evil, loyalty, courage, etc. Last but not least, by certain images anthology like black ghosts riding with an epic music, dramatic and frightening. Good film, in short, to see it with your children if you do, very educational.
The fearless vampire killers: the Polanski-sixties. Cacho I like Polanski, without intending to because I've been making more of their movies. This in particular is great: a vampire story tinged with comedy, brilliantly acted by the leading duo of Abronsius professor and his assistant Albert (Polanski acting like a clueless idiot and romantic something-hormonal, a devout disciple of the teacher), with the beauty that was Sharon Tate (my God, my mother looked like !...), and with a photograph and very special atmosphere achieved (the castle and the snow scenes, which seem to the silent movies of the 20's: vintage Polanski doing when not creating the term.) Much imagination, irony with a touch dark, a mixture of aesthetic resources in the service of the script .... I read one sentence of a child in "Good Sunday", the Sunday supplement that brought the Third in the early 80 ("Is there I ponder the first?), a short report to him and his work entitled "Polanski: a great evil." Here in Chile saw a boy dubbed in English on TV and I was fascinated and scared me to shit together. The title is translated as "The Dance of the Vampires "by the dance scene in the castle.
black cat, white cat: that is a very simple story, but gypsies. I shit of laughter with the vitality of the characters and their aesthetics angry.
Before dawn and before dusk, because, as Douglas, I am romantic. Because I happened to know that people in connection spontaneous, but not in Vienna, and that is a movie dialogues, and I like to talk.
The Commitments: because I love music and rock bands, although in this case is soul. Because I draw attention to Ireland and the Irish, I feel like a tune with them when I hear their music or see in the movies, but also that the film is great, the characters very well characterized (Joey "the lips": great!) and different and the soundtrack is cool.
I continue.
